When you’re at a porn convention and notice a long line of fans waiting to talk to an adult model, it’s safe to assume two things.

  • She’s a dynamic on-screen performer.
  • She’s really good with her fans.

Blake Blossom, Millie Morgan, and Kira Noir certainly fit both descriptions.

Along with turning out hundreds of sizzling scenes in the 2020s, the three performers are among the industry’s best when it comes to engaging with fans at adult expos. Whether it’s a few playful selfies, an autograph and a hug, or a simple, meaningful conversation, Blossom, Morgan, and Noir do everything they can to ensure convention attendees have a good experience at their booths.

They’ve certainly had plenty of practice.

In addition to various Exxxotica events and other appearances, Blossom, Morgan, and Noir have each attended the past three AVN and X3 conventions—both of which take place this month. X3 kicks off Friday at the Hollywood Palladium, and AVN’s Adult Entertainment Expo is slated for next week at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

PornCrush recently caught up with Blossom, Morgan, and Noir to get some “pro tips” on signing at conventions and interacting with fans.

What’s the key to maintaining positive, upbeat energy during a taxing week of signings and appearances?

Blake Blossom: I think the key to staying positive during AVN and XBIZ is staying true to yourself. If you aren't the most social talkative person, don't force yourself to try to talk all day. Knowing how much social battery you have is important and planning your days around how much you engage with fans is crucial. Set aside time in the day for things you enjoy first, then plan the work around it.

Mille Morgan: Gratitude. How fucking cool is it that our fans travel across the country just to take a few pics and say hi?!?! On a more practical level, I also get an IV & shot of fluids/vitamins immediately before & after expo season & this is so crucial for me.

Kira Noir: Scheduling is so important. You need to schedule time for water breaks, snack breaks, bathroom breaks, and downtime. It’s easy to lose track of time and feel like you’re just rushing from one thing to another if you don’t go out of your way to set time aside for these things. If you know that, in an hour, your time to take a breather is coming up, you’ll feel less overwhelmed.

With so many parties and events each night after the expo, what are some things to remember in terms of rest and eating and keeping your body energized?

Blake Blossom: Plan on what time you want to leave each event and stick to it. Plan on when you will eat and set alarms on your phone/watch. Your brain will be so full of information and faces, you won't have time to eat or drink anything. Setting aside time for the necessities will make the week easier.

Millie Morgan: DRINK WATER & STAY HYDRATED!!! I keep protein bars and Red Bull in my bag at all times. Bring earplugs or headphones because you may want to go to bed sooner (or sleep later) than your hotel neighbors.

Kira Noir: You need to drink water! Los Angeles and Vegas are both dry environments, especially if you’re flying in. Stay hydrated; keep a water bottle nearby if you can. I like to bring a few packs of water to my hotel room so I don’t have to search for where to buy them during the convention. I also like to bring caffeine gum with me to award shows so I don’t have to chug a Red Bull in the red carpet line.

How do you handle the shy, anxiety-ridden fans who is visibly nervous to meet you?

Blake Blossom: I have a basic set of things I ask or say to each person to guide along the meet and greet. Starting with asking their name, going into what they would like from me today. If they have other questions, I answer them. If the conversation goes quiet or starts to feel uncomfortable, asking them who else they are there to see is a great segway. If you don't know what to do, you can always say you have to use the bathroom/take a quick break and you will see them later.

Millie Morgan: I start by asking if this is their first AVN or XBIZ or if they’ve been to other porn expos, it helps to go from there. Ask them where they are from! Strike up a conversation about what they’re wearing. Ask if there’s any other performers they are excited to see.

Kira Noir: Shy fans are doing their best to reach out and connect with their favorite stars, even if they struggle with direct eye contact or casual conversation. I try to go at their pace. I never want to try to force a fan to do more than they’re comfortable with.

What about the occasional creepy fan who may make you feel uncomfortable?

Blake Blossom: I ask nicely once. If they don't comply, I get a security person to address the situation. I'm very strict with people and I encourage the more shy/newer people to not be alone. No means no!

Millie Morgan: Keep it short and sweet if the vibes are off. If someone touches you in a way you don’t like, call them out immediately because others might model their bad behavior if you don’t correct it. Some guys are genuine creeps but some are just nervous/overexcited and a firm “Hey, please don’t touch me there,” is a respectful way to give them guidance.

Kira Noir: Security guys are stationed all around these expos. When you go to your booth, locate your nearest security, whether they’re provided by the company you’re signing for or a part of the venue staff. If someone is making you uncomfortable, do not hesitate to ask for help! If you’re wandering around, same thing—try to make sure you know which uniforms to look for if you need help. And if you’re uncomfortable hugging fans, you don’t have to lay a single finger on them. Don’t let anyone coerce you into touching anyone if that’s not your vibe.

What are your expectations when it comes to tipping?

Blake Blossom: I personally don't charge for photos with me. I charge for my own prints and merch I bring, but if the company provides the signing material I think those prints should be pushed first. To each their own, but I find saying I accept donations rather than a dollar amount is a better option. If you are budgeting for this trip, make sure you know how much you need to make each day to break even.

Millie Morgan: It’s lovely when my fans are able to show their gratitude through their generosity. That being said, I understand some people travel a long way simply to attend and that’s expensive. Your respectful presence and kindness is always enough for taking photos and chatting in person with me.

Kira Noir: Tipping is a personal choice. I don’t expect people to tip, but I do expect them to pay for products available for purchase. If you mean to make money, please don’t rely on tips.

Any other tips?

Blake Blossom: It takes time to figure out this expo, and if it's worth it for your career. Use the time to network with specific people who can help you get what you want. Don't waste the connection opportunities.

Kira Noir: Pace yourself! This is a marathon, not a race. Drink water, eat protein, take your vitamin C and zinc, and don’t indulge too much at the after parties. Check out the panels at the conventions for more industry insights. Also say hi to me if you see me, I’m a gooner at heart and I’ve probably already watched your porn.
