Like so many of her colleagues, Gracie Jane heard the myth repeated countless times: Being a porn star limits—or even eliminates—your chance of succeeding in a career outside of the adult industry.
“I never agreed with that notion,” Jane says. “I refused to believe it.”
That explains Jane's drive and determination over the past few years as she pursued a future in music. Jane’s hard work paid off last month when the award-winning trans performer was featured in “Never Choke,” a new single by surging pop artist That Kid.
The song also features another high-profile name in Chase Icon, one of the fastest-rising trans talents in mainstream music.
“It’s a hot-girl, party-type anthem,” Jane tells PornCrush. “It came about very naturally. I’ve been working on music with That Kid for a while now, and when he had a new album coming out, he asked me to be in this song. It was a no-brainer.”
The release of “Never Choke”—which is available on all major streaming services—follows Jane’s debut album, “Sugar,” which came out last year. One of the songs on that album (“Bigger”) features Jane’s close friend and fellow adult star, Brittney Kade.
“I want other artists to see the value in working with a porn star,” Jane says. “These things make us look so much more legitimate in the mainstream world and show that we’re a force to be reckoned with.”
Jane—a 2024 Trans Performer of the Year nominee by AVN—hopes her achievements in mainstream music are inspiring to adult stars who are on the fence about pursuing their passions outside porn.
“We have a lot to offer besides what we already do,” Jane says. “I hope this is encouraging to other girls who might be artistic but are scared to do anything about it because of (their career in porn).
“I’d tell everyone to chase their passion and to take it seriously because sometimes people do notice.”
