Uncut James discussed in detail his plan to murder Flesh Mechanic weeks before he rammed a truck into the popular content creator as he sat on his motorcycle, a former friend of James said Wednesday.
“I thought he was joking,” said the friend, who spoke to PornCrush on the condition of anonymity. “I never imagined he would actually go through with it.”
The friend said she attended a comedy show with James about two weeks before the attack. She said the former male talent was despondent following a breakup with his girlfriend—and irate that she had recently shot a scene with Flesh Mechanic.
“I felt bad for him, in some ways,” said the friend. “He was a very unhappy person and he was becoming erratic. It was clear that he was struggling.”
The friend said James had expressed his disdain for Flesh Mechanic in the past. But when his name surfaced during the car ride home, James took his hatred to a new level when he “joked” about killing Flesh Mechanic with a hammer.
“I was pretty shocked,” the friend said. “I turned to him and asked him point blank, ‘What the fuck is wrong with you? Why would you say that?’”
An argument ensued.
“He eventually said, ‘I’m just making a little joke—but I do know how to do it. I know someone who has a truck with a flatbed to transport (the body). And (Flesh Mechanic) always posts his location online, so I could just wait outside.’
“I said, ‘You’re being crazy! You’re being weird, and I hope you know how wrong that would be and that I’d never defend you.’ The car got really quiet after that.”
The friend paused.
“Two weeks later,” she said, “he shocked us all.”
Indeed, according to another source close to the situation, James staked out Flesh Mechanic and then rammed him with a borrowed truck while Flesh Mechanic waited at a stop sign. After gaining his footing, Flesh Mechanic approached the truck and observed James attempting to put on a ski mask. James then exited the truck wielding a golf club, which he swung one time before Flesh Mechanic knocked him to the ground and broke his orbital bone with a punch to the face.
Flesh Mechanic sat on top of James until police and paramedics arrived. James’ former friend said her jawed dropped as word of the attack began spreading on social media.
“If I had known that this is something he would’ve done, I wouldn’t have just scolded him and let the conversation be brushed under the rug,” she said. “I never thought an actual attempted murder would take place. I’m not an insane person who is OK with other people being hurt. Yes, there were warning signs. But it’s not like he ever said, ‘I’m going to try to kill this person.’”
After mistakenly being released from the hospital following treatment, James was arrested April 4 and booked for attempted murder.
He was released the next day on a $1-million bond. James was also charged with illegal possession of a loaded gun in public, as responding officers found an untraceable ghost gun in the truck. He was also charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
According to the Los Angeles Times, James pleaded not guilty to all charges on May 3. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 6 in Van Nuys for a preliminary hearing.
The friend, who was later interviewed by the LAPD, said she has not spoken with James since prior to the incident.
“It’s tough,” she said. “It’s like, ‘How well do you really know someone?’ He was having a hard time. It’s one of those things that you’ve got to chalk up to someone being unhappy and unwell.”
